What actually fails on AC units in Ubud

Ubud is the humid end of the problem. Between the rice terraces at Tegallalang and the river valleys around Sayan and Mas the air holds moisture almost constantly, and a unit that never fully dries grows mould on the fan barrel and inside the drain pan. Overflowing drain pans and a persistent musty smell are far more common complaints here than anything electrical.
