AC Leaking Water in Bali
Water dripping from the indoor AC usually means the drain line is blocked, the unit is dirty, or the installation slope is wrong.
Diagnosis
Why AC water leaks happen
- Blocked drain pipe or drain pan
- Dirty evaporator coil causing overflow
- Wrong drain slope after installation
- Frozen coil from weak airflow or low freon

The order we check things in
Water down the wall is almost always drainage, not refrigerant, and in Bali it is almost always the drain line. Condensation collects in the pan under the indoor coil and leaves through a pipe that runs outside; when algae, dust or an insect nest blocks that pipe the pan fills and overflows into the room. The other two causes are a pan that has silted up so the water cannot reach the outlet, and a unit that was installed fractionally out of level so the pan drains towards the wrong corner. We check the line first because it is the cheapest to fix and the most common.
What you can check yourself first
Turn the unit off — that stops more water arriving while you sort it out — and put a towel down rather than a bucket, because the water runs along the wall rather than dropping cleanly. Look for the drain pipe outside and see whether anything is coming out of it; if it is dry while the unit is dripping indoors, the line is blocked. Do not poke wire into the pipe from the indoor end, which pushes the blockage further in. Drain pipe cleaning is Rp50,000 as an add-on to a clean.
